WALL ART AND PERSONAL GOALS ARE MORE RELATED THAN WE RELISE SINCE ANY PIECE OF ART ON OUR WALL COULD HAVE THE EFFECTS OF A VISION BOARD, BRINGING INTO OUR LIVES THE VERY THINGS THEY REPRESENT AND MEAN TO US

Wall art and personal goals is an underrated relationship and the post-holiday period is the perfect time for us to re-evaluate and reconsider it. Not only it’s the new year and in any way, we all pretty much want something new to represent this new beginning, but also all the holiday decorations are down and any space can feel empty and dull. Let’s bring it back to life with some new wall art!

Is that still you?

When I look back to pictures of my space from years ago or even notes I took weeks ago, too often I see that this is no longer “me”. The person that painted their walls red and purple and made a painting on the ceiling is a sweet memory of my younger creative self, but it’s no longer part of my personality. The person that dreamed of a walk-in wardrobe the size of my current apartment is no longer me. This isn’t a goal for me anymore. In that regard, what I have on my walls, the images I see every day, are they still me?

The design of your wall art

Taking our personality into an account, we try to see things from an interiors design perspective. Even though not all of us have the knowledge or the “eye” of a designer, we can see what works for us in our personal space. So we take a look at our walls and total decoration, looking for things that don’t go well together or even for items missing from the overall picture.

The vision board effect

A vision board is a very popular law of attraction practice that is supposed to bring you into your life whatever it shows, whatever you desire. You technically create a collage of pictures of the things you want and every time you see it, your brain increasingly more familiar with the images which cause you to take relevant action and eventually achieve the goal, the story your vision board is telling.

Personally I don’t have a success story to share with you, but I really like the idea, to even have a collage of inspiring pictures to frequently look at. My issue is with the aesthetics of it all. Gisele’s body with my head, a pile of money and the Taj Mahal wouldn’t exactly be my first choice for my wall decoration. So I decided to treat my wall art as my vision board, to at least bring more inspiration, more of the vibes I want instead of the literal stuff I have framed.

The abstract vision board

Right now I have on my walls two frames, both Paris-inspired. I am keeping both, but I’ll change their position. Additionally, I’ll make an abstract artwork, based on my vision board. I intend to film the process and talk you through my vision board making in future content.
