Day 5 – Are you jealous?
Being jealous is a small-minded person’s feeling. It not only eats us from within, but it also lowers our self-esteem, sends bad energy to the person we envy and sends the Universe signals of unworthiness, misery and lack of abundance. Guess what the Universe will send back to us in return. True …but. As every feeling, jealousy is a human feeling and all humans experience it from times to times. And as all things, it’s not jealousy itself which is “bad”, it’s what you to with it that can be destructive and lead to misery.
Jealousy can be one more step that shows you your true desires, it can be the map to your goals and the feelings you want to feel through them, but only if “used” right. Hating someone who has what you want or hating yourself for not having it, is definitely not the way to grow and feel better.
The hardest part here is to be really really honest, but the good thing is that no one but you needs to know. Are you jealous of someone? Then try doing the following exercise from Julia’s Cameron The Artist’s Way: Create three columns and write in each one: who you’re jealous of, why, and the “cure” what you can do to actually feel you’re getting closer to that thing you’re jealous of. For example I’m currently jealous of people with their own small businesses, who can do what they love and making a living out of it. That is why I’m committing to work towards that goal, with an actual plan (this time!) and determination.
