How do you want to feel?

F
or a few years now, I’ve been trying to get happier using outside factors. Even though that’s not the point, it actually is a very good place to start. There are so many daily tricks we can use to be more mindful and, well, happier with the things, people and experience surrounding us. This is why I want to approach every piece of my content based on a feeling. It’s not how well I might have created a video and the photos, it’s not the time I spent to create everything for you, it’s not even the information I’ll give you through this content. It’s how every piece of it will make you feel. So go on, pick your desired feeling, find the relative content and enjoy!

ABOUT THE ISSUE

I DON’T KNOW HOW I WANT TO FEEL

T
he ultimate expression of maturity, appears to be “knowing what you want” and then figure out how to get it. In other words be a “go getter”. But the truth is, we receive so many contradictory signals all day long, that’s so easy to get confused and actually not knowing what you want. That’s totally fine! There is a quick way to find out, if not for really deep and philosophical matters, at least for simple everyday things in life.

We are wired to think what we most don’t want -it’s not you, or me, it’s human nature- and even though this seems as a flaw, it’s actually the way to know how you want to feel. Simply think of what you don’t want, what you hate, what you’d love to change/ get rid of/ run away from right now and then reverse it to a positive statement. For example: “I don’t want to feel blue” turns into “I want to feel joyful”, “I don’t want to remember that thing even happened” turns into “I want to set myself free from this memory (you won’t actually forget the event, but you might be able to see it from another perspective, from a distance).

Most of the content is published on the 1st day of each month, but I plan to publish some surprise content every month. The access is free, but I keep a small proportion of the content locked for members only (while still free). The magazine is being promoted all month long, through social media, and paid advertisement ensuring that your promotional material will be seen.

I could showcase your product/service, talk about it in a video (or more), review it or even form a whole section of the magazine around it. I love the idea of promoting indirectly, through experience, stories, art and well… content! It feels more realistic, it’s much more pleasant to the reader and much more effective for your brand.

Sponsoring concepts starting at €50, to fit any budget. But if you contact me early enough, you could even exclusively sponsor an issue, so go on, tell me about your product or service and we’ll find together the best ways to promote it to my beautiful audience!

talk to you soon!

Please share your thoughts about à  magazine, below. How does it look? Was it easy to navigate? Was there anything that’s too confusing about it? What would you like to see more of?

WHAT’S THE “HOW DO YOU WANT TO FEEL” CONCEPT

F
rom your life goals to your nail polish, your interior decoration and your mobile phone case, I believe everything we do, are and own should work together to make us feel the way we want to feel, to make us happy in a way.

I’m here to create shortcuts to the feelings we want to feel using my content and favourite places online and off. My goal is to immerse you in the experience of your own feelings, through things as simple as reminding you how much you love that bright lipstick (and that you should wear it more often), but also as deep as pieces of phycology, philosophy, poetry and art.

The content comes monthly, but I might create a few bits throughout the month. It’s totally free and open to everyone, but there are a few pieces kept for members only (while still free!). If you want to access the exclusive content, you can simply join the free membership here.

I’m not going to lie, I decided to create this content because I love it! It’s like a dairy and gratitude list for me. but I have a strong feeling you’ll love it too!

The question is: How do you want to feel?

FEEL MINDFUL

I love how Shauna Shapiro begins her talk about mindfulness! But most of all, i love how she ties mindful living with science and has actual explanations for everything she’s talking about.

FEEL MAGICAL

Feeling magical and mystical is such a big part of how I want to feel. I could get there with something as simple as fighting a jasmine incense cone, or as big as planning out a ritual based on the phase of the moon. Having my own altar is a whole other story!

FEEL MAKEUP

MAKEUP MEDITATION

Many small pleasures in our day could become a mindfulness exercise, or a kind of meditation. I’m focusing here on makeup, because I believe that’s something women should enjoy more doing.

MAKEUP LOOK TO FEEL CONFIDENT

Makeup can definitely help us feel confident in many ways. In this video I show you a look that came out different that I planned, and I really liked that! What I want you to do, is to completely personalise your “confidence look” according to your products, your makeup habits and the occasion.

FEEL BRONZED

Bronzing and Contouring get us very often confused and we end up not knowing when to do which and how to apply the appropriate products. In this video I’ll talk to you about the shades of the bronzers and contouring products and I’ll quickly demonstrate how to apply each.

I spent some time in London recently, and this is a little trailer I created from my visit. I saw the city with new eyes and experienced different things than I had the previous times I’ve been there. I totally enjoyed it and I can’t wait to tell you more about it and my future plans…

FEEL PINK

Now that the plae-pink is such a huge trend, I finally found more ways to implement it into my minimal-ish style and white-based decoration and Instagram feed.

It’s June already and instead of choosing to show you summer trends and suggested sunscreens, I chose to take you through my favourite (Pink!) stuff and my favourite makeup tips. Even though I love explaining makeup techniques in my videos (I must have a teacher in me!), my favourite topic in this issue is “How to turn your makeup routine into a meditation”. I won’t tell you more, I reveal all about it here.

Since April, when I published issue 1, I radically changed the way I deliver my content. Instead of publishing blog posts every now and then, I decided to create a monthly issue with all the topics I want to talk to you about. That way I’m much more focused to create and publish all the content “at once” on the site and then present it to you in social media piece by piece.

Take a refreshing drink (I have some coconut water next to my keyboard right now) and enjoy my first summer issue!

Until next time, take care!

xoxo

P.S. I already have a ton of ideas about the next issues of à  magazine, but I’d love your opinion about it! Click here to submit your thoughts and tell me what would you like to see more and less in each issue.

MINDFUL

MAKEUP MEDITATION

ost of us, busy people, believe that multitasking is making us more productive, and since we achieve more things in less time, we must be happier, right? Well, no… Taking time to enjoy some little joys in our everyday life, is what will make us happier, calmer and will give us the energy to do all the other things we need to do in our day. It doesn’t have to take more time than usual, we won’t necessarily slow down our moves, but rather our mind.

Many small pleasures in our day could become a mindfulness exercise, or a kind of meditation. I’m focusing here on makeup, because I believe that’s something women should enjoy more doing. It might sound too “yogi”, too “new age” or even too much time, but you can keep your 10-minute makeup routine, a 10-minute routine. What you’ll need to do is focus on what you’re doing, leave out all the rest and enjoy your makeup. See, smell, feel your products and actually love them and the process of applying makeup.

Now, I know (and I mean I-know!) how busy life can get and how difficult meditating could get when your 3-year-old says “mommy” 3 times per second, but this actually is a mindfulness exercise and practice makes perfect! The best thing is that you’ll enjoy it so much that you’ll most likely get inspired to be more mindful in other areas of your life too. Just try it and let me know!

In the video below, I explain all about the process and I’ve also created for you a free downloadable makeup meditation (get it here!). As you’ll see, I’m not guiding you technically, but I try to set the pace of a relaxed, self-care moment in your day.

Want to take it one step further and infuse some magic into your style? Read here how to do it.

MAKEUP LOOK TO FEEL CONFIDENT

C
onfidence is a feeling lucking in too many women. Even tough it’s not as deep and rooted as self-esteem, it’s still a beautiful way to go by in everyday tasks and challenges. Makeup can definitely help us feel confident in many ways. In this video I show you a look that came out different that I planned, and I really liked that! What I want you to do, is to completely personalise your “confidence look” according to your products, your makeup habits and the occasion (because you need a different look to feel confident for an encounter with your ex, and a different look to feel confident when shopping for a yoga mat).

hauna Shapiro with her short TED talk, makes you want to know more about mindfulness and how to apply it in your daily life, which is the point in these practices. I used to think that in order to meditate you’d have to be all alone and preferably on a mountain so that nothing would get you out of your total piece. For those of us that choose to live more, well, “wordly”, this is a totally unrealistic concept, but that doesn’t mean that mindfulness and mediation is out of the question. This is what I’ve been trying to do and now that I’m in what feels like the right path, I love sharing some tips with you too. That is why I share what I find to be interesting from around the web and I also create (free) short guided meditations for you.

I love how Shauna Shapiro begins her talk about mindfulness! But most of all, i love how she ties mindful living with science and has actual explanations for everything she’s talking about. I do “believe” in energy and chakras, EFT, meditation and acupuncture, but since I don’t have the necessary knowledge, I can’t actually explain how they work with our bodies and minds, so I deeply admire those who do!

he ultimate girly colour that I’ve had such a love-hate relationship with. As a teenager, I couldn’t let show that I loved girly things, because I should appear more like a “badass”, all grown and mature girl. Though my definition of a “badass” was to wear mostly black clothes and listen to metal music, not much more than that… But that still was a huge leap, since I was secretly playing with my Barbie dolls until 15…

After 22 or so, I felt it was OK to be more girly and I embraced pink in some ways, but it still couldn’t much fit with the style, decoration and clothing I preferred. Now that the plae-pink is such a huge trend, I finally found more ways to implement it into my minimal-ish style and white-based decoration and Instagram feed.

I WANT TO FEEL LONDONER

MAGICAL

I spent some time in London recently, I saw the city with new eyes and experienced different things than I had the previous times I’ve been there.

I spent more time in museums -I could literally live in V&A museum, I visited vintage stores in Kingston and had a picnic in the Isabella Plantations. I fell in love with the “Angel” neighborhood, I did some shopping and had a margarita on the 39th floor of Heron Tower. I got lost in a beautiful bookstore and I had the best cappuccino in Canary Wharf.

This is a little trailer I created from my visit. I totally enjoyed it and I can’t wait to tell you more about it and my future plans…

I WANT TO FEEL MAGICAL

Feeling magical and mystical is such a big part of how I want to feel. I could get there with something as simple as fighting a jasmine incense cone, or as big as planning out a ritual based on the phase of the moon. Having my own altar is a whole other story! I’ve been wanting a place to gather together some of my favourite tiny things and for over a year now, I have such a place in my apartment. Some might be lucky enough to have a whole room for that purpose (#altargoals !), but your altar doesn’t have to take up so much space. It could be a small table or even your nightstand. Mine is basically on my bedroom wall and on the top of two tall cabinets (tall comparing to my… curious 3-year-old!).

In the video below i give you an altar tour, to show you some things that I love and have a meaning to me! One of the inspirations to create an altar of my own has been Gala Darling, so check her post out for more on How to create an altar.
