How do you want to feel?
In the first issue of my “How do you want to feel” project, which I decided to call  à  magazine -I believe it looks and sounds much better. I chose to feature some of my favourite feelings with a few shortcuts to get to them, with content I’ve created or have discovered throughout the web. Choose below How do you want to feel and enjoy the content!
At this point of my life, I want to feel a squeaky clean face, so that Iâll be able to see the clear beautiful 30-year-old skin of mine! Except the products I apply on my skin, Iâm very careful with the hygiene in general. I always keep my brushes clean, change my pillowcase regularly and use face cloths only once before I wash them.
Did you know you could actually fake confidence, using a couple of 2-minute posture exercises? Amy Cuddy, social psychologist explains in her very interesting TED talk how it works and how exactly to do these exercises.
AÂ simple, easy, minimal and, well, light makeup is my favourite way to feel light. It’s quick, easy and works every time! This is a look based on highlighting with simple techniques that I use to bring out some glow.
MAKEUP IS A FEELING
Makeup is much more than just slathering products on our face. Weâre making a statement, weâre doing a beauty meditation, weâre going after a feeling.
Empowering makeup has a lasting feeling. Itâs not a quick fix, it still makes you feel awesome when you take it off.
I don't know
The ultimate expression of maturity, appears to be âknowing what you wantâ and then figure out how to get it. In other words be a âgo getterâ. But the truth is, we receive so many contradictory signals all day long, thatâs so easy to get confused and actually not knowing what you want. Thatâs totally fine! There is a quick way to find out, if not for really deep and philosophical matters, at least for simple everyday things in life.
Iâm all for big changes, re-inventing ourselves and starting all new, right from the beginning! Our surroundings play a huge role, in that. What we posses, and how it makes us feel (I really think Marie Kondo and Danielle Laporte should work together on a seminar/event/ book or something!)
IÂ love a good guided meditation that makes the whole matter seem easy, simple and like anyone can do it! Thatâs exactly what youâll feel if you try Madeleineâs meditation for confidence. Her voice is so soothing, her instructions so smooth and the whole meditation feels relaxing and focusing on whatâs right -for a change!
The experts out there, took this tool, our breath, and found different techniques that can be used anytime by anyone. I chose to share with you a video from my favourite, Gabrielle Bernstein. Even though she’s talking about a meditation, she basically presents a breathing technique that will help you relax.
French is Beautiful is the best thing I could have ever found to get the genuine à Paris feeling! Carrie Anne, the founder, is an American living in Paris, teaching french online and creating a digital immersion experience for her students and followers, through French Weekend, her weekly newsletter and all her content in social media.
I DON’T KNOW HOW I WANT TO FEEL
We are wired to think what we most don’t want -it’s not you, or me, it’s human nature- and even though this seems as a flaw, it’s actually the way to know how you want to feel. Simply think of what you don’t want, what you hate, what you’d love to change/ get rid of/ run away from right now and then reverse it to a positive statement. For example:Â “I don’t want to feel blue” turns into “I want to feel joyful”, “I don’t want to remember that thing even happened” turns into “I want to set myself free from this memory (you won’t actually forget the event, but you might be able to see it from another perspective, from a distance).
Now, relevantly to the feelings of this issue, do you see any of the feelings you’ve been chasing after? Simply click on them and enjoy the content!
Interested in sponsoring à magazine?
Most of the content is published on the 1st day of each month, but I plan to publish some surprise content every month. The access is free, but I keep a small proportion of the content locked for members only (while still free). The magazine is being promoted all month long, through social media, and paid advertisement ensuring that your promotional material will be seen.
I could showcase your product/service, talk about it in a video (or more), review it or even form a whole section of the magazine around it. I love the idea of promoting indirectly, through experience, stories, art and well… content! It feels more realistic, it’s much more pleasant to the reader and much more effective for your brand.
Sponsoring concepts starting at â¬50, to fit any budget. But if you contact me early enough, you could even exclusively sponsor an issue, so go on, tell me about your product or service and we’ll find together the best ways to promote it to my beautiful audience!
talk to you soon!
Welcome to issue 1 of  à  magazine. I’m thrilled you’re here, because if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know how much I love to create new stuff, and how I enjoy the rush of every new project! This magazine is my way to “come back” and create content in the pace, place and quality I love, without the pressure of a weekly/daily schedule that had lead me in the past to deliver content I wasn’t really proud of.
What I love the most about the new form I decided to deliver my content, is that it allows me to create a very nice mixture, a “collage” of original content of mine, together with content from all over the web, all under the prism of “How do you want to feel”.
In this issue, my content is minimal and the original pieces are less than I plan for future issues. But I do love every piece and enjoy living the way I present in each part of the issue. Meditation, French lessons, Spirituality books, Makeup, Ted talks are all part of my life and the way I think. No filler content, here -that’s a promise!
Take a cup of coffee or tea and dig through the issue. I really hope you’ll love it!
Until next time, take care!
P.S. Since this is the first issue of  à  magazine, your opinion is more valuable than ever. Click here to submit your thoughts.
MAKEUP IS A FEELING
Empowering makeup has a lasting feeling. Itâs not a quick fix, it still makes you feel awesome when you take it off.
RE-DEFINING MAKEUP RULES
If you feel your angles, your wide nose, your double chin defines you in a positive and uplifting way, then please donât contour it, donât try to hide or change it. This is the ultimate self love act.
Now when you actually want to change something about you, you donât have to be apologetic about it. Self-acceptance and self-improvement can exist in parallel as Gala Darling said after her breast augmentation surgery. Itâs all about the why, about the intention you have. As you donât wear your favourite perfume because you stink, but for a bunch of other reasons, you donât contour your round face because âyou donât want to see that moon face in the mirror againâ, you do it because you love it and you want to see it even prettier.
When I first saw Gala Darlingâs eyeliner I thought: âOh, she has such pretty eyes! Too bad she applies her eyeliner in such a wrong way.â The flick was too fat and its angle could be much more smoother. But back then, I wasnât really familiar with what Gala Darling stood for. After reading her blog and taking most of her courses and reading her book, Iâd see her eyeliner as part of a whole, a symbol of a weirdo-modern-witch with passion about self-love, exercise and all things pink. If I ever had the opportunity to do Galaâs makeup, I apply that eyeliner totally wrong! And Iâd be proud about it!
My point is: Know the rules and be wrong on purpose.
This is a book about self-help overload and actionable spirituality. In White Hot truth Danielle Laporte won’t try to “teach you”, “show you” or “save you” and that’s what makes her in my eyes the perfect mentor. Through her poetic and philosophic tone, she’ll share the experiences that wakes up your own light and inspire you to take things more slowly yet more efficiently. Spiritual practices are not meant to be another stressful task and White Hot Truth is the best reminder of that.
As Danielle Laporte said, herself, there’s going to be so so much online activity through the book launch, and seeing the book club, that in more of an online immersion, I thing we can expect beautiful things from team Laporte!
I love physical books. There’s a certain magic about them. Even though I’ve pre-ordered my White Hot Truth copy, when comes to Danielle Laporte, I always have to have the audiobook too. She reads her books like she’s talking to a good friend. Her soothing, calming and sexy voice makes you feel like she’s in the room with you. It feels like a comforting, humorous, deep, late-night discussion with your girlfriend, over some wine, when the kids are long asleep. One of those talks through which you could cry and laugh several times.
I WANT TO FEEL Ã PARIS
In case you’ve never heard, I’m in love with Paris, and anything that brings me closer to it, is my best friend! Feeling à Paris means so much more to me than wearing striped T-shirts, red lipstick and having an Eiffel tower keychain. For me, Paris is about culture, art, writers, poets, light, magic, cafés, inspiration, fashion, romance, painting, museums, beauty, cosmetics, fairytales and pains au chocolat! All those together make a multi level feeling and I’m always in search of things that will make me feel that way, until my next trip there.
French is Beautiful is the best thing I could have ever found to get the genuine à Paris feeling! Carrie Anne, the founder, is an American living in Paris, teaching french online and creating a digital immersion experience for her students and followers, through French Weekend, her weekly newsletter and all her content on social media.
One of my favourite pieces of content by her, is the mini video below where Carrie Anne teaches us how to say Elle rêve en français (She dreams in French – which has happened to me a few times!!).
I’m a big fan and also one of Carrie Anne’s students. I love the French is Beautiful Université and the way Carrie Anne teaches. It’s truly the best experience I could ever have, after actually being à Paris!
Follow her on Instagram and Facebook and of course, join my favourite French Weekend newsletter!
Simply put, white colour makes you feel more in harmony with your surroundings and relaxed. And of course, what’s more “light” than white?
A simple, easy, minimal and, well, light makeup is my favourite way to feel light. It’s quick, easy and works every time! This is a look based on highlighting with simple techniques that I use to bring out some glow.
The best thing about this makeup feeling is that you don’t even have to do a dramatic look to achieve it, you don’t have to change much your usual routine and -even though I show a few ways with different highlighters- you don’t even have to use a lot of products.
Move: Exercise or move your body in any way (even if it’s jump up and down for a few minutes with your kid). Sweat a bit and feel more connected with your body.
Visualise: Visualise a white ball of energy over your head. See the light entering your body through your crown and filling you up. See this light expanding and filling up the space. Be the light.
The experts out there, took this tool, our breath, and found different techniques that can be used anytime by anyone.
I chose to share with you a video from my favourite, Gabrielle Bernstein. Even though she’s talking about a meditation, she basically presents a breathing technique that will help you relax.
Also, I have created a 1-minute meditation which you can download and use any time in your day!
The video below, talks about a Draumur, a horse that got deeply depressed due to a false diagnosis and was cured through posture exercises, exactly as Cuddy says! Warning: you’re probably going to cry!
Gabrielle, a Rebel at heart
Below, I give you the latest of their videos.
Your body language shapes who you are
I first heard about ms Cuddy in Levo League website (I love this site, I’ll talk to you more about it in another issue), where they host a free Presence Course. I then looked her up and found her TED talk and then this beautiful, inspiring and deeply touching video. Click here to watch (not the Chanel, the other one!)
MEDITATION FOR CONFIDENCE
This is a quite older video, at this time, Madeleine Shaw is pregnant and she’s sharing a part of her experience, along with a lot of tips about eating, exercising and well being, so in case you’re interested, check out her website!
I’m all for big changes, re-inventing ourselves and starting all new, right from the beginning! Our surroundings play a huge role, in that. What we posses, and how it makes us feel (I really think Marie Kondo and Danielle Laporte should work together on a seminar/event/ book or something!)
The way you (want to) feel and the things you own are deeply tied together. As Marie Kondo, author of the book The life changing magic of tidying up, simply puts it “Does it spark joy?” if not, you don’t need it! This is the perfect time for a spring clean, a serious decluttering that will transform from a tidying session to introspection, from a closet clean up to memories clean up, from evaluating your makeup products to evaluating every relationship in your life.
After you get rig of anything you don’t love, it’s probably the right time to dig into what you do want. Here is where my beloved Danielle Laporte comes in.
Knowing what you want, how you want to feel, is the most potent form of clarity. The whole idea behind The Desire Map is acting based how you want to feel, and not have feelings because of the way you acted. Only the thought of it sounds so dreamy âX doesnât make me feel Y, so I just stop doing itâ. I know you might think that âWe are responsible adults, we wonât just do anything we want in lifeâ, but starting with simple small things, and building our way to bigger ones, we can see and appreciate the value a practice like this has.
CLEAN BOFORE CLEAR
At this point of my life, I want to feel a squeaky clean face, so that I’ll be able to see the clear beautiful 30-year-old skin of mine! I really want to get rid of this acne, and the first steps (before my doctor’s prescriptions) are these beautiful products! except the products I apply on my skin, I’m very careful with the hygiene in general. I always keep my brushes clean, change my pillowcase regularly and use face cloths only once before I wash them.
